April 2011. Cornwall Wildlife Trust has launched a range of clothing for dolphins to kick off the celebration of its upcoming 50th Anniversary in 2012. The Trust, which has 14,000 members and over 80 Business Members, is the county's largest wildlife conservation charity that focuses solely on protecting wildlife on land and in our seas.

The Trust has developed a range of tabard style vests which their marine conservation team will fit to the popular visitors to Cornish waters in the coming months. The tabards include the Trust's logo in bright colours to make them as visible as possible to the public.

Marine Conservation Officer Tom Hardy says, "This is a trial run, we have selected individual dolphins we know who swim close to shore and alongside boats. We hope that members of the public will see them and be inspired to join the Trust, or make a donation to support our work in the charity."

Tom continues, "We have worked closely with animal welfare specialists to ensure that the tabards will not pose any threat to the dolphins' safety or wellbeing and the animals will be monitored so we can be sure they are happy and behaving normally."

If the project proves successful, the Trust will consider rolling out the tabards to other well known species including badgers, dormice, buzzards and bats.

Sorry - I'm being thick this morning

I just read the preceeding articles (I'm one of those that read papers and magazines from the back)

I trust this is an April fools joke - otherwise its only one down from the campaign to cull raptors to save song birds
