A Common mynah bird with white wing and tail feathers has been seen in Hawaii. Photo credit A Isbel.

This leucistic Common myna has been seen several times in the same territory in Ala Moana Beach Park, Honolulu  in Hawaiʻi. It's odd white tail and wing feathers don't seem to have prevented it from attracting a mate, as can be seen in the images. Our thanks to Mr A Isbel for the images.

Leucism (or Leukism)

Leucism is a very unusual condition whereby the pigmentation cells in an animal or bird fail to develop properly. This can result in unusual white patches appearing on the animal, or, more rarely, completely white creatures.
