Aroha Island
Aroha Island is now an ecological reserve. Accessed only by the causeway from the mainland, predators are heavily controlled aloowing native wildilfe to thrive.
Wildife highlights: North Island Brown Kiwi, pied and variable oystercatchers, Australasian Harrier, banded & New Zealand Dotterel & morepork can all be seen here.
Location & Access: Aroha Island is 12 kms north-east of Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands and linked to the mainland by a causeway road. Follow the brown Aroha Island signs from the Waipapa Road and Landing Road roundabout, just north of the historic Stone Store.
Accommodation: There is a lodge, a cottage, a bunkhouse and camping all available.
