Not perhaps what you would expect but 300kgs Leopard seal leviathans are the grim reapers of the southern oceans. This beast played with the unfortunate Gentoo for half an hour before finally dispatching it.

Gamble
Typically getting a shot like this was about gambling. We picked a position a long way from the seal and waited, it worked. I watch hundreds of photographers, make that thousands, always chasing the prize, be it seal, leopard, cheetah or tiger. This is not only ignorant but also results in predictable often harassed photos. Far better to gamble, trying to predict the behaviour. It may not work but when it does .....
