Bristol Safari
In search of the city's urban wildlife - By Ian Wade The Great Plains of East Africa? Yellowstone National Park perhaps? Kakadu? Not for photographer Ian Wade, and not even the downs or the coast either. Ian Wade has photographed the wildlife of urban Bristol, and in particular the foxes, and few people will get as close to wild foxes as Ian has managed.
Most of us live in cities nowadays, yet few people realise or notice the wildlife that lives around them, and some consider it to be a nuisance. Many creatures have adapted well to living in urban environments, and some positively thrive. Pigeons (and now peregrines), sparrows, gulls, squirrels, rats, mice and foxes are all burgeoning in our British cities, and Ian Wade is trying to get us to enjoy what we have.
