Great British Marine Animals - 3rd Edition
Written by Paul Naylor
Foreword by The Wildlife Trusts and the Marine Conservation Society.
Many people think of the waters around Great Britain as cold, grey and fairly lifeless. This book will put you right (though no one can argue about the water temperature). If you know where and how to look, there are octopus, a remarkable number of different sea stars, beautiful cuckoo wrasse (amongst 6 species of wrasse found here), sea hare (Actually a sea slug), some 20 different species of crab, a surprisingly diverse selection of corals and all manner of worms, jellyfish, anemones, urchins, fish and more.
A very good book for anyone interested in the sealife around Britain. Our one criticism is that we like maps, and there aren't any.
The updated version of the 'Bible of British Marine Life' has some 250 new photographs and includes 30 additional species that have been found around Britain recently.
