Wildlife and bird watching in the East Midlands
Wildlife watching in the East Midlands is dominated by the Wash and the ospreys at Rutland Water Nature Reserve
There are plenty of other opportunities to see wildlife and birds here though, and an exciting development is the huge new reserve being created at the recently flooded Alkborough Flats on the Humber Estuary.
Other major wildlife habitats can be found at the Far Ings National Nature Reserve, the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District.
